Update Contact Info
- 的 Account Maintenance Form allows you to electronically update the contact information associated with your account
- Up-to-date contact information benefits both you and GVEA
- 例如, should you ever need to report a power outage, our phone system will identify your account by the phone number you use to call in, expediting the outage report being filed
- 另外, when you file an outage report, you’ll have the option of choosing to receive an automated call-back to confirm your power has been restored
Other ways to update your phone number:
- Call our automated phone system any time at (907) 452-1151 or (800) 770-4832 to update your phone number(s) – Be sure to have your account number(s) available – If needed, Member Service Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. 到下午4:30.m., except holidays.
- Stop by one of our Member Service lobbies in Fairbanks or Delta Junction to speak with a representative.
If Your Lights Go Out
- Check with your neighbors to see if they have electricity
- Check your fuses or circuit breakers, and reset your main breaker located at the meter – Keep extra fuses on hand
- Check the outage map to see if the outage in your area is listed – If not, call GVEA at (907) 452-1151 to report an outage
- Turn on your porch light – it’s a means of communicating to our crews that your power has been restored
- Turn off and unplug sensitive equipment, such televisions and gaming consoles – Equipment with motors, such as refrigerators and furnaces, should also be turned off – Once the power has been restored and has stabilized, you may safely turn on power to these items – Remember, it’s your responsibility to protect your sensitive equipment by installing surge protectors and uninterruptible power sources where required
We strive to provide uninterrupted electric service, and we are proud of our reliability record. 然而, uncontrollable situations, such as damaged lines or broken equipment due to weather, vandalism or even vehicle accidents, can result in power failures. Whatever the cause, we know it is inconvenient for our members and try our best to get the power back on in a timely manner.
As a courtesy to our members, GVEA has prepared a Generator Booklet (PDF) to assist with determining the appropriate generator to match our members’ individual needs. 的 book includes critical information on the transfer switch, 安装, operations and maintenance, as well as diagrams to assist with safely installing a system.
